I was an electrician for 12 years and operated my own company: Kalar Mechanical Ltd. In 1985, I suffered a life changing spinal injury that left me a quadriplegic.

In 1995, I attended the Open Learning Agency Access Ability Program, earning a Certificate in Computer Programming. As part of this Program, I completed a four-month internship in the Information Services Division (ISD) of ICBC. I was hired as an entry-level Programmer/Analyst in 1996.

Both at work and at home, I use adaptive equipment and technology (i.e. sip & puff switches and voice-recognition software) to perform daily tasks.

Presently I am an Acting Project Manager I in Business Transformation Project Management Services at ICBC. I have been with ICBC for 18 years and plan to retire in 2 years.

Life is precious, I wish I would of learn that lesson earlier but then I always tried to live life to the fullest, wild and reckless.

I only attend Vernon Senior Secondary for grade 12. In my short time at Vernon Senior Secondary I made many friendships that have lasted till this day. It was a great experience and I often look back at those great times.

Yes, I own a house in Winfield (now Lake Country) overlooking Woods lake. Rented out at the present time.
